Back at the Farm...
Ah, farming. A peaceful rural time investment, its hard work though and even though everyone and their grandma and their pet goldfish has their own farming RPG simulator thing-a-gummy or whatever. At least here in Venture Quest, it is a feature more than anything else. So let's take a deep dive into the farm!
The Farm is available once the bridge to Springport has been repaired which is after the events that play out in Celadonia. Here a government official sells you this recently foreclosed piece of land for 8000G and once purchased, the player can farm and mine important crafting items such as wood and monster fur.
There are two buildings, a farmhouse in which you can sleep for free and a barn in which you can keep unicorns and slimes, so let's take a look at that.
Unicorns and slimes cost money to be spawned into the barn but are worth the investment. Unicorns can produce Spirit Essence, an essential item for crafting magical items and equipment. When farmed, Unicorns also give out a small amount of experience for the Science profession. Slimes on the other hand produce Slime Balls, which are used for any Potion or anything that needs something sticky. Slimes also create a small amount of Chemistry experience.
Herb bushes have to be purchased, but once bought, can produce Healing Mints which are used for Potions. These bushes also produce a small amount of Medicine experience.
Foxes can be purchased and require the use of a Cestus to "shave" them for their fur. In the current build of the game, a Cestus can be found in the farmhouse in a chest. Foxes produce Monster Fur. which is needed to create early level equipment and can be fashioned into Leather which is used for some slightly higher tier equipment. Foxes give out a decent amount of Blades experience.
Wood can be found in a small grotto in the northwest corner of the farm. These logs are here by default and can produce...well...wood, with a Hand Axe in your inventory. In the current build of the game, a Hand Axe can be found in a chest in the farmhouse, right next to the Cestus in fact. Chopping wood creates a small amount of experience for the Blades profession.
In the Northeast corner of the farm is a small mine, again the Hand Axe is used here to bash rocks for randomized chance to earn all sorts of ore, coal and even gold nuggets and diamonds. Bashing these rock produce a small amount of Metalworking experience.
Now you're well versed on how the farm works and what items that can be found here. The farm is great alternative to obtaining items via monster drops and item shops. While it does cost money to get the farm up and running, its an investment that pays itself off through renewable crafting items that would become very useful on your adventure.
Until next time!
