Development Update! (Getting rid of Mothballs!)


Hello and boy has it been a hot minute so several things.


1. Development had been paused during the months of December and January due to burnout for working so long and hard on this game. So in the meantime I made a new personal project.

2. I fixed the lag! The game has been noticeably laggy during battles and turns out it is a plugin that mimics the HP behavior of EarthBound/MOTHER 2. This has since been disabled and now HP is immediately subtracted when damage is taken. Hopefully this isn't too much of a change in gameplay.

3. Development has resumed as of this month and the game is almost finished! what remains are two dungeons, the final workplace to get hired from, and the final boss itself that has data implemented and thus is awaiting its addition to gameplay.

Development is moving along nicely now that I have taken a break but due to how long this project has been going on, there will be some changes. For one, the Battle Frontier will be scaled down and will mostly be used for a boss rush. Any additional content will also be scaled back in order to facilitate the faster development of this game. Pre-Production of the next game is underway and further announcements about the next project will come in the far off future.


But for now, Venture Quest is about 90% complete and  once its done, a new demo will be released alongside a period of bug fixing and adjustments. Most likely, the Home version will be released first and the Professional Version will remain behind closed doors until certain processes regarding its release have been concluded.
